Trace could just see 342 people swallowed up in a mushroom cloud. If he can’t get these people off and safe and check the baggage for a bomb he would end up like Bullet and the Dr. wins.
Evacuation crews were arriving at the edge of the jumbo. The big plane popped open and the inflatable slide unfolded till it hit the ground. People immediately began sliding out. They didn’t know if they should clap or cry, so they just started running for the edge of the tarmac.
Abbott rushes into the cargo bay of the Cessna to take a look at the case bomb. He relays to Trace, “Silver case, there are two push, twist and unlock latches.” Trace yells, “get out of there. Wait for the bomb squad.” Abbott responds, “That’s a negative sir” Trace grimaced and says through clenched teeth, “Get your ass out of there NOW!”
Abbott notices a shadow go above his shoulder. “Trace you above me in your helo?” Trace replies, “Negative,” Abbott stares at the case as he hears sounds coming from inside. It automatically begins to open. Inside the case Abbott notices two small tubes that begin to fill with the green liquid like that in the warehouse in Miami. His eyes grow large as he speaks “Shit, Oxygen activated.” Trace’s computer screen went cloudy.
The explosion could be seen from Reagan International. Trace could see the mushroom cloud from inside his copter. Sirens at Dulles began to wail and emergency trucks began to roll.
Jill could hear all the communications from her SUV and began to yell, “Abbott, Nick, anybody still read me? Chopper 1, Chopper 2, anybody copy? “The pilot from Trace’s chopper was the first to responds, “This is Chopper 2, Can’t raise anyone on the radio, just see smoke.”

Chapter 20 Once Again
Trace looked out from the windows of the third floor FBI office. They had checked out the jumbo plane at Reagan International and found no other devices.
Abbott only had a grandmother alive in Northern Michigan. He was going to be laid to rest with military honors and the Medal of Congress. Jill was on her way for the service.
There were thousands of injuries at Dulles from the shockwave. The entire East Coast was affected. Radiation detectors were set up everywhere. Not a good ending. There was a commendation handed down for Abbott. He saved the lives of 3 senators, 6 aides, and 2 crew members.
The case bomb had a small nuclear charge and no other added capability: this was a level three case bomb. It was designed to go off when opened. The charge was designed to destroy something, maybe the plane, maybe its passengers. It was originally planned to carry the top three senators and the three house members of the intelligence committees of congress, and the FBI director. Somehow the director and the house members changed plans and were to take a later flight. Someone wanted to shake up the White House intelligence service in a quick and violent strike.
Now Trace had two visions of Mushroom clouds he had to wipe out of his mind. As Trace watched the news on TV he stared and wondered. Which way do I go from here? Was he even going to be given another chance? His phone went off. Jill’s number lit up. Twice now the doctor had gained the upper hand. How the hell are they going to stop this? Trace never heard his phone; his mind was not anywhere near here.
